At the age of 50 Michael Martin aka Iz the Wiz passed away.
November 30, 1958 - June 17, 2009
Iz collapsed at his brother´s home in Florida and was rushed to the hospital. It's said the cause of death was a heart failure.

The news is spreading speedily through graffiti communities around the world as New York old School graffiti legend IZ the Wiz has passed away. At the age of 50, born Michael Martin aka IZ collapsed at his brother's home in Florida and was rushed to hospital. At this stage we understand the cause of Death was heart failure.
The term Old School New York legend is probably used a little too much these days, but IZ the Wiz wore the shoes well and he earnt it. A relentless bomber, IZ was active in graffiti till the end of his life. A true legend of the Subways and a world renowned contributor to the culture of Graffiti.
His passing will not go forgotten as he has influenced writers of many decades and will do so for many decades to come. From his pieces in the Style Wars movie to the worlds exposure of his work in Subway Art. IZ was more then All City, he was All World..
